Shipt is an independent delivery service and app that any retailer can partner with. Meijer Home Delivery is powered by Meijer’s own team and uses a delivery method from Instacart. No, Meijer Home Delivery and Shipt are two different services. ![]() ![]() Is Meijer home delivery the same as Shipt? You will only be charged if your order is accepted, so if you’re unhappy with your order or the Meijer shopper is unable to complete it, you won’t be charged a delivery fee. Once your order is placed, you can access your order online or on the Meijer app to track your order, change or cancel your order or reach out to the Meijer shopper with questions or requests. The delivery fee is based on your order and is typically $5-9 but free delivery is available for orders over $35. After they’ve completed your order, they will call you before delivering your order to confirm you are home. The Meijer shopper will then stay in contact with you via text or other digital communication to give updates on their progress completing your order. To use the service, you simply create an account on the Meijer website and shop for the items you’d like to order and then select a delivery time window. Meijer delivery service is a convenient way to have groceries and other items delivered right to your door by a professional and courteous Meijer shopper. Generally, cash is the preferred form of payment for the tip to the driver, but many companies also accept tips through debit or credit card. However, you can always adjust the tip to be higher or lower depending on your satisfaction with the delivery. According to West Michigan food delivery service, the standard tip range for grocery delivery is 10-15% of the order total. The Meijer app is just the Shipt app with only one store type available, other than that everything should be the same with Shipt.Generally, higher tips are advised for more complex deliveries that involve a longer wait time or a greater distance traveled. I have the Meijer account, not a general Shipt account, so mine is only good for Meijer, but I'd assume if you have the Shipt account they will go to any of the stores that Shipt supports. You can tip them through the Meijer/Shipt app. They drive to your house, deliver the groceries, and leave. You can still text them at this point, I asked my lady to drop the groceries on the porch then text me when they were delivered. When done, they will check out and it will charge your card the actual amount they spent on the order. They were also out of all types of pizza dough, so I told her to get large flour tortillas instead. On my order they were out of a certain type of eggs, so she suggested a different brand of eggs. Someone will text you that they're starting your order.Įach time something is unavailable, they will text you with alternatives, or you can suggest something completely different. They put a hold on your card for the total + 15% or so, in case of substitutions or price changes. You can still make updates to your cart until about two hours before the window. You reserve a 1 hour delivery window to get your items. You will have to re-do your cart once a day or so because it seems to clear it out randomly. They only post slots for today + tomorrow, so it's less of a concern of waiting weeks and more of trying to be the first to claim a new slot when it opens up. Here's how it went for meįrantically refresh the site waiting for a slot to open up. I finally got an order through with Meijer over the weekend.
